Our history
Adival was founded on a simple yet visionary idea: to utilize by-products from food production in a more environmentally friendly way.
In the early years, the company’s founder collected waste from nearby food producers for his own pig farm – partly for economic reasons, but also with a clear conviction that the products were more useful as feed than as waste.
Over time, both companies and farmers recognized the concept, laying the foundation for a more commercial operation.
Gradually, Adival grew from a local solution into a professional company that offers tailor-made and documented solutions to a wide range of food producers.
Our development and commitment to sustainability
Adival is in constant development, continuously adding new products and suppliers.
The many different types of by-products place high demands on creativity and flexibility in the development of both production facilities and processes. Our goal is not only to ensure food safety but also to create feed products with positive qualities for animal nutrition.
At the same time, the growing societal focus on sustainability, waste reduction, and recycling directly supports Adival’s original vision: to use resources efficiently and ensure that as much as possible is reused at the highest possible level.
Environmental considerations are actively integrated into everyday life at Adival:
- Packaging is recycled whenever possible
- Trucks meet the highest environmental standards to minimize the CO₂ footprint
- Surplus by-products from feed production are ISCC certified and disposed of for biogas
Great development potential requires close cooperation throughout the value chain
To thrive optimally, animals as well as humans need a healthy and varied diet.
By using by-products from the food industry in feed, we ensure that the natural components of vitamins and minerals, as well as flavors from cakes, breakfast cereals, and confectionery, are kept as high as possible in the food hierarchy. In this way, we contribute to the necessary flavor variety in the feed, which stimulates appetite and promotes well-being.
In close cooperation with our suppliers of by-products, Danish feed producers, and especially farmers, we continuously work on rethinking feed solutions that can incorporate by-products. Some of these by-products are not sufficiently utilized today, but through proper processing or composition, they can become a valuable feed supplement.
